INDUSTRIAL ARCHAEOLOGY – A series of walks to a variety of locations, each exploring one aspect of the fascinating heritage of Wales’s lost industries, and all in spectacular surroundings...

J R R Tolkien – How holidays near Bwlch may have produced the landscapes of Middle Earth. About 8kms in total with 100m of ascent. Stroll.


Stroll – A straightforward walk of less than 10kms, mostly on good paths.

Stretch – Mainly between 10kms and 15kms, these walks are slightly more demanding and may include short, steep climbs or sections of rough terrain.

Strenuous – Full-on hill-walking with long or steep climbs, sometimes on difficult terrain.
