Macnamara's Road and the Cefn Ffordd

Location = In the Black Mountains, near Crickhowell, a small town on the A40 between Brecon and Abergavenny.

Description = A long but mostly gentle walk, starting through a lonely valley on an old road with a surprising history, returning on an ancient track along the top of one of the fantastic “never-ending ridges” of the Black Mountains, complete with ancient boundary stones, bronze age burial cairns, ghost stories, and an iron age hill fort of vital strategic importance!

Distance & duration = 20kms with 600m of ascent (optional short-cut available). Allow 6 hours.
